The College Health Corps program was started in 2009 by Minnesota Campus Compact and the Corporation for National and Community Service (Minnesota State Office) to address the health disparities that are prevalent in the state. The program places AmeriCorps VISTA members at various sites throughout the state to address local barriers for low-income people involving access to healthcare, prevention services and health education. Because it is a program of Minnesota Campus Compact, the College Health Corps has a unique strategy of leveraging assets through partnerships between community-based entities and our member higher education institutions.
The College Health Corps (CHC) VISTA program advances health equity and improves low-income Minnesotans’ health through partnerships between higher education and communities.
